A Year in Review & the Year Ahead

Now that 2021 has passed and a brand-new year is upon us. How about we give you good people a rundown of some of last year’s highlights and have a wee peek forward at what’s to come in 2022.

2021 started with a touch of housekeeping, where we added some much-needed storage space and building upgrades to increase production areas for our growing business.

We also maintained our SALSA Beer Plus accreditation and invested in loads of shiny new equipment, helping us keep quality and standards high.

Two new 3,000 litre fermentation vessels were installed upping our capacity to over 17,000 litres.

Our production capacity also grew by +35% with over 150 brews (173 to be exact) Seeing us launch 13 new beers throughout the year. Including 5 collaboration brews with some amazing colleagues within the brewing community.

Collabs with Feirce Beer, 71 Brewing, Six Degrees North and Dog Falls.

2021 also saw the opening of Peterhead’s first solely dedicated, craft beer outlet in the form of our Queen Street bottle shop and tasting room.

We purchased our very own 2,000hr canning line.

And of course, we picked up 3 national awards, including, “Brewer of the Year” for our resident boffin, and Head Brewer, Trevor.

Those were our top highlights of the past 12 months… Now for a look at the next.

We’ll also be returning with pop-up bars, attending beer festivals and bringing back brewery tours and tasting sessions in 2022.

We don’t need to tell you this one, but you’ll be seeing plenty more new beers being launched… You will have already noticed that we released 3 different Russian Imperial stouts in the first week of January, setting us off on a roll.

This year will also see the launch of new products too.

We may even have some exciting info on a new venue / production space….

And of course, this year we will be turning the grand old age of five. Where you’ll see some fresh and amplified takes on some Brew Toon classics.

As always, keep an eye on our socials and we’ll be seeing you throughout the year….

All the very best,

Brew Toon
