And the Winner is...!

Last month saw the NES Food & Drink Awards in a less familiar setting. Usually, a function hall at a fine North East establishment would be filled with a well-dressed who’s who of Aberdeenshire’s food and drink procedures rubbing shoulders and dining on the best homegrown produce our region has to offer. This year however, due to COVID-19 was a more subdued affair. Where award winners were published over the internet.

One of those winners was your very own Brew Toon for, “M’ango Unchained,” our mongo and passion fruit infused IPA that has found itself being sold in bars, restaurants and shops from Lerwick to Glasgow. The award up for grabs was, Most Successful Product and had some stiff and outstanding competition within. Seeing the likes of Summer House Drinks of Rosehearty and Dean’s of Huntly reaching the final three.  

This isn’t the first time we have picked up an award from NES Food & Drink. In fact, last year, M’ango Unchained won best brewed product in the same competition. The nautical town of Peterhead has long been on the country’s sonar for its association with the fishing industry. But now, we apparently make pretty good beer too.
